‘Tis the season to spread the mele kalikimaka cheer! It’s official… the annual “Toys for Tots” drive is under way in Hawaii. Now celebrating their 49th year, this program hopes to both meet, and surpass last year’s toy collection of more than 45,000 toys. Nearly everyone has been affected by breast cancer in some way: A mother, a daughter, a grandmother, teacher, or friend. In Hawaii alone, about 860 women are diagnosed each year with this disease. Professional Hawaii moving company Royal Hawaiian Movers was proud to assist the U.S. Coast Guard with recent logistical support for their Rescue 21 Project. The most recent project involved the coordination and transportation of prefabricated facilities and equipment to extremely remote areas throughout the Hawaiian Islands, including the Kamehame Ridge. This new Rescue 21 program was created to help improve on the Coast Guard’s ability to assist with distress calls at sea.
