On Friday, December 2nd, 2011, Kona moving company Royal Hawaiian Movers took part in a media event for the Lokahi Project on the Big Island. For decades, the Lokahi project has been providing Hawaii’s struggling families with life’s basic necessities (linens, toiletries, cleaning products, non-perishable food, etc.).
This Holiday Season, Kona mover Royal Hawaiian Movers, graciously volunteered vehicles and storage for food and toy donations. They also collected over 70 live Christmas trees and various furniture items to be distributed to less fortunate households across the Big Island.
On December 25th, Royal Hawaiian Movers employees and their families delivered gifts, canned food, toiletries and hot meals to needy families and seniors in North Kohala. Michael Bulseco and Tad Allies (with wife Kim and their 2 children, Amber and Nash), started gathering food and toys around 8am. Once gathered, they then prepared some 250 hot turkey meals, and spent the day delivering these hot meals to needy families across the Island.
The day brought many smiles and thanks from Lokahi Project friends and families. Memories were made, and hundreds of lives were touched by the selfless efforts of the Lokahi Project and their volunteers.
A BIG MAHALO to all for their efforts this Holiday Season.
