Moving to Oahu: trust local pros on the islands and the mainland
Helping families, businesses, and military personnel make the move to Hawaii’s “Gathering Place”
Trust Royal Hawaiian Movers for all your local moving needs: residences, offices, and more
For most people moving to Hawaii, their destination is Oahu (locally, spelled O’ahu), home to roughly two-thirds of Hawaii’s population as well as Honolulu, the state capital and Hawaii’s most populous — and popular — city.
For more than 30 years, Royal Hawaiian Movers has helped households, businesses, and the military move furniture, equipment, and more to most every city, town, street, and beachfront paradise in Hawaii’s third largest island.

How to move to Oahu, and a little bit about when
Moving to Oahu is easy: just contact us. Royal Hawaiian Movers offers a multitude of options for moving you, your family, your office equipment, your pets, and more.
If you’re moving from the mainland, we have teams there that can help (via our sister company, DeWitt Move Worldwide). If you’re moving from another island, we have teams there, too, and can even offer a “you pack it” EZ Move service from Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island.

What to move to Oahu: packing up the car, pets, and plants
Royal Hawaiian Movers has every step covered if you’re moving a car or any vehicle to Oahu. (Learn more about shipping vehicles to Hawaii.)
However, due to its unique ecosystem and the regulations in place to protect it, there are restrictions on certain kinds of pets and plants you may bring to Oahu (as there are across all of the Hawaiian islands). Typically, the restrictions are on invasive species, but the rules vary. We are more than happy to explain in detail. (You can contact us for more information, or learn more about invasive plants and pets from Hawaii.gov.)
Read MoreHousehold goods, however, are not invasive, and packing them up is an easy task for the pros at Royal Hawaiian Movers. Whether you’re shipping boxes and furniture to Oahu, or a vehicle, or moving office equipment or heavy machinery, we can help.

Best places to live on Oahu (we’ll get you there!)
Moving to Honolulu
If you’re moving to the Honolulu area (which includes the beaches of Waikiki), get set to enjoy some of the best shopping, dining, and living experiences Hawaii has to offer. You know what? Forget that: it’s some of the best shopping, dining, and living experiences the world has to offer.
Our local moving team will help you with your Honolulu move from start to finish, whether you’re moving to one of the capital city’s majestic high rises, or to one of its glorious beaches, we’ll take you every step of the way.
Moving to the North Shore
If you’re moving to Oahu for the surfing life, you can’t do much better than the North Shore (immortalized in movies like North Shore). The things that make the North Shore of Oahu so appealing to so many — it’s remote, with plenty of privacy — are the things that can make moving there a challenge. But with nearly four decades of Hawaiian moving experience, we can make your move to the North Shore as smooth as its glassy morning waves.
Moving to Kapolei, Makakilo, Ewa Beach (the “leeward” side)
With a large military population (and proximity to Pearl Harbor), the leeward side of Oahu offers every residential and commercial comfort you would expect on the mainland. If you’re in the military and lucked out with a PCS to Oahu, know that Royal Hawaiian Movers has been helping military members and their families relocate to Oahu for decades and we are proud to serve those who serve.
Moving to Kaneohe, Kailua, or Kaneohe Bay (the “windward” side)
One of the more picturesque places in all of Hawaii, the stunning Kaneohe Bay is only part of what the eastern, or windward, side of Oahu has to offer. If you’re moving anywhere from Kahuku to Waimanalo Beach, Royal Hawaiian Movers can do everything from packing you up to assemble furniture after you’ve moved in. No one does it better.
